Health Reform and Long Term Care Health Insurance Changes

Have You Heard of The CLASS Act?

The CLASS act is not an old movie or a book about rules for good behavior. Instead it is a provision of health reform, that is voluntary, and may help some families make nursing care more affordable.

CLASS stands for Community Living Assistance Services and Supports. It is a pat of the new health reform bill. It was passed by the US Senate and House of Representatives. Workers will be enrolled in this program, but may choose to decline it at any time according to the wording in the bill.

What Does the CLASS Act Do?

It is a voluntary program. Employers will be required to deduct premiums, but employees can opt out of this program if they choose to. Premiums have not been determined yet. It is believed they will be lower tor people with low incomes, but.that average workers can expect to pay about $120 a month If people under the program become disabled, it will pay about $50 a day for nursing care. Note that these people do not have to be over 65 years old. The nursing care could be from a nursing home, but it could also be in-home care, such as a home health aide, adult day care or assisted living. So it pays for nursing homes or alternatives. The plan premiums are set to be adjusted at a rate that will keep it solvent without any federal funds. The CLASS act is NOT A TAX. It is voluntary.

Will This Health Reform Measure Help?

There is no doubt that nursing care is expensive, and that most of us faced a high chance of needing long term care at some point in our lives. A nursing home can cost well over $100 a day so this new bill is just part of the picture. It would help, but not totally keep us from needing to rely upon other assets, long term care insurance or government aid.

Is There Already Government Help To Pay For Nursing Care?

Note that Medicare, the federal health insurance program for seniors and disabled people, does not pay for long term nursing care today. It only pays for short term stays. Medicaid, the federal heath insurance for the poor, only starts to pay after a person has almost exhausted their other assets.

Many people confuse Medicare and Medicaid. They do have similar names, but are very different programs. Some people are on both Medicare and Medicaid, but they are on them for different reasons. Medicare is for seniors and disabled people. Medicaid is for people with low assets and incomes.

What About Private Long Term Care Insurance Policies?

Again, even if a worker opts into the health reform plan, they cannot rely on $50 a day to fully pay for nursing home care. In fact, it may pay 30 - 50 percent of it. The other $50 - $100 a day would have to come from another source. This could be a private or group nursing home insurance policy, assets, or Medicaid.

This part of the plan has not been implemented yet. I also understand that there will be a waiting period, so nobody can sign up for the plan a few days before they need it. The benefits of this part of health reform are not going to affect us in the next few years, but may help younger people with their retirement planning.

Concrete Polishing Makes Old Floors New Again

New York is a historic city filled with magnificent old buildings with aging interiors. Many interior designers are delighted to work on the walls and ceilings, but until recently concrete floors offered a challenge. Often they could either cover them up or leave a dull looking surface. Today's new concrete polishing techniques and floor treatments offer many possibilities and almost infinite design choices.

Designers are often confronted with old cement floors which may be uneven, cracked, marred, and damaged. Interior features such as floor vents, drains, and door jams add extra challenges. Although the untrained eye may see an old concrete floor as a problem, today's resurfacing wizards see them as exciting canvases which they can transform into beautiful surfaces.

First, chips, holes and cracks need to be repaired. Since every concrete floor is different and aggregate material used over the past decades greatly vary, the finished product will always be different. If the surface is uneven or height issues present problems around doorways and entrances, self-leveling overlays can be applied and polished. These self-leveling treatments can be colored or decorated with a wide variety of color pigments and textured decorative elements. The floors are then sealed, polished, and burnished with a resulting finish that is often a major interior design highlight.

Modern innovations in concrete floor treatments can create surfaces that look like marble, granite, tile, or terracotta. Logos and designs can even be added to the floor. Don't fall into the trap of ignoring the cement floor and only consider the walls. Designers and architects consider these decorating options in the overall interior design. Polished concrete floors are popular in apartment lobbies, galleries, and skyscrapers all over New York City because they provide a functional, decorative, flooring solution.

New concrete polishing treatments have several advantages over other floor options. The wide variety of looks and styles offer you many choices, but the overall cost and lasting durability make it one of the smartest economic floors available. When choosing between concrete polishing and self-leveling treatments, remember polished floors can be used almost immediately after the work is done, whereas self-leveling floors take longer to dry so completion time is longer.

The next time you are in the city, look down. You might think you're walking on a marble, granite, or stone floor, but it just might be Polished Concrete.

Build the Snowball and It Will Run

Setting up your own online business can seem extremely daunting. Whether you've already got a business and want to sell products and services online or want to start from scratch with a new business, there is a great deal to think about.

However, despite the economic doom and gloom, there is real money to be made from web-based businesses. But where do you begin?

If you're starting from scratch, the first thing you need to decide is what you're going to sell and who you want to sell it to. The Web is a global marketplace, but that doesn't mean your business has to be international. Some of the most successful internet businesses target tight niches. When making the decision about what type of business to start you'll need to research the types of products and services that are in demand and the competition for supplying those to customers. The ratio of demand to supply will give you an idea of the likely profitability of any business idea. After all, there's no point in starting a business that's not going to make a profit, is there?

If you have expertise in a particular subject or area, then that's a great place to start. If there's a subject you're passionate about then start there. Focus on what you can offer that's unique. It's much better to offer something unique in a small niche market than try and compete with a thousand other companies in a huge market. Remember the bigger the market the more competitors you'll have. And on the Web, the chances are high that they'll all know more than you about the techniques associated with marketing and selling on the internet.

If you've already got an offline business that you want to promote on the Web, or have products or services that you want to sell on the internet, then you're a good part of the way there.

However, whether you've already got a business or have a good idea for starting one, there's a great deal to do to be successful on the Web. You have to come up with a domain name and register it, build a website (or get someone to build it for you), and find someone to host it. If you want to sell products or services directly from your site, you'll need to build-in online shopping facilities, and if you want to accept credit cards, you'll need a merchant account .

Then there's the promotion. It's all very well having a website out there in cyber space, but if no-one knows it's there, you won't get any customers. So you have to promote it, on and off-line.

How do you get visitors and how do you ensure they are in your target market? The most cost-effective way of generating targeted traffic on the Web is by ranking highly in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN for keywords related to your business. Unfortunately there are thousands of Web marketing professionals out there who are intent on making sure their sites rank highly, meaning that the chance of a relative newcomer getting a top 30 ranking in a search engine is small. Without a ranking in the top thirty on the major search engines you might as well be invisible.

Finally, and most importantly, once you've got traffic, how do you convert a reasonable percentage of it into income? How do you build the kind of trust and credibility online that keeps visitors coming back and spending money?

Phew! If you weren't daunted before, you will be by now. Fortunately, none of the problems outlined above is insurmountable. It's hard work sure, but very rewarding. And you don't have to do all the work yourself, there are plenty of solutions which will do lots of the hard work for you, like the one I use.

The important thing, as with any project, is to start and then to keep going. Imagine your website as a snowball running down a hill. It starts off very small and has no momentum. It takes hard work to roll it and help it grow, but once it reaches critical mass it gains a momentum of its own, starts to roll by itself and grows exponentially very quickly. Your web business is that snowball.

Why You Should Have Vision Insurance

If you are part of the group that is wearing eyeglasses or contact lenses, you might want to look at the advantages of having a plan that offers you vision benefits. The plan may be obtainable by your employer or straight from the insurance that has vision benefits. Some companies that want to keep on their employee may want to add on vision coverage to the benefits package. Insurance for vision either offers a discount on eye care and eye wear or a benefits package.

When you have a package for vision insurance benefits it will include eye exams, which you might need to pay a co-payment up front from the time of your service, the balance will then be paid by the plan. However, with a vision discount plan, you have to pay for the complete service but at a price that is lower than normal which your eye practitioners agreed to charge. Upon buying your discount plan or benefits package, you need to purchase two products.

The network of eye care providers that you have access to, have agreed to help with a service and maybe a product that is at a reduced price, this will be for you or the company that is handling the plan. The types of providers for service will be an optometrist and a ophthalmologist. If there is a case where the ophthalmologists deal with LASIK as well as other procedures for correction they could be included as well. The other is eye care products and services that are specific to your needs; they will include an exam for the eyes, contact lenses or eyeglasses. When you are looking at choosing a plan it is best to know what the eye care provider and service that is included in the package.

When you are looking to chose a vision insurance plan, always look at what is available and how the service would benefit you. You should look at the past years or your medical records to see the type of eye care services you have done and your family as well, and including how many times they have used the same service. This can give you an idea of what you will need in the future. While you are looking at different plans, make notes of what your needs are, what will save you the most money. Finally, will the plan give me the assurance that I think is quality and guidelines and procedures that I can follow.

In conclusion, choosing to have a vision insurance plan, will give you the benefits and discounts when you need them. If you want the best discounts and benefits it is best to do your research and see what is out there. As you don't want to choose the wrong one for you, always ask questions if you need to, to make sure your getting what is said in the package and take note of it so you can come back to it later. See what is available in the package and what you will need and want, if it doesn't have those then maybe this isn't the best one for you. Overall it is wise to look into vision insurance, as it can save you money and give you benefits in the end.

Ischemic Heart Disease

Ischemic heart disease is better known as a description for the reduction of blood flow to the heart. You probably have read in the media that one of the major heart conditions is hardening of the arteries or blocked arteries. This is the lay description of ischemic heart disease, a major health issue throughout most Western countries.

It is a natural process for tiny deposits of plaque to accumulate along our arterial walls. Depending on our individual make up, this can result in a potential problem called arteriosclerosis. In others, no symptoms or problems develop at all. Call it nature's luck.

Our body attempts to cope with the problem of the build up of plaque by basically 2two mechanisms. One, the arteries can expand to allow the blood flow to continue unimpeded. Two, if the expansion is too rapid or if there is not enough natural elasticity in the arterial walls, a rupture can occur, usually causing death or massive brain or other organ damage.

Watch Out For Fats The good news about ischemic heart disease is we know the cause and so we can do something about it. The answer is simple and straightforward and easy to implement.

Stop smoking, stop eating foods which are high in fat, and get some regular exercise.

It seems so simple but the fact remains that we in the western world appear to have great difficulty giving up our habits and vices. In some countries there is a marked difference in the incidence of ischemic heart disease. Maybe it's that we have so much choice and an increased tendency to eat what we want without having to think about the cost or nutritional value, whatever it is, we need to sit up and take a lot more notice to prevent what amounts to an epidemic of ischemic heart disease.

One thing our society has in its favor however is our excellent education system and the plethora of government agencies that continually advise us of the need to change our ways. This same process has lead to vast improvements in lifestyle and we can live with the real expectation that things will change for the better once the message gets through. We have cut back on smoking, we've regulated harmful drugs and our health experts continue to find new ways to influence us for the better.

Even the large fats food outlets have modified their menus in the face of this accumulated knowledge. We have new exercise programs in schools, better food offered at schools, and young people are influencing their parents. All of these developments will contribute to a lessening of ischemic heart disease.

How To Create A Brand That Sticks

Most people, when they hear the word branding, think logos - but in fact, branding is really much more than that. A brand involves blending the image, purpose, and focus of your business, with your core marketing message, and coming up with something which will stick in the minds of people who encounter it. As a business or an independent professional, it is who you are and what you do, packaged neatly, clearly, and memorably. A logo is only a tangible representation that works to reinforce a brand.

So - what kind of personality does your business have? Is it conservative and solid? Outgoing and fun? Or robust and strong? And, what is your business focused on doing? Whom do you want to work with? How does your business differ from the competition? And what makes it so special, after all? Do not try to name every special quality or unique selling point - you can actually build a brand on just one unique quality! Once you can answer these questions, you can begin to create your brand. The question is what you want YOUR brand to leave behind in people's heads.

Practically any business or professional can benefit from a strong brand. But branding is even more important for micro businesses and independent professionals because they face tighter competition. A well executed brand and identity can help them compete on a larger playing field, appear more professional, and stand out from the hordes of competitors.

Once you determine how you want to be remembered, your image and your message will need to communicate that. The image can simply be a consistent look used in all your correspondence, a logo that marks everything that comes from your business, and the identity you use on your web site and brochure. The message can be a tag line, your 30 second "elevator speech," and woven through the content on your web site.

A logo is only one manifestation of brand identity, used to create a memorable impression, but it is useless if you have not clearly defined your audience and the focus of your business. There are plenty of clearly branded businesses using only consistent fonts or colors in their marketing collateral. But whatever you decide chose one image to stick with through all your business communication, and make sure that image is professional. In other words, if you do not have the resources or finances right now to have a professional image developed for you, work with less, rather than using badly formatted clipart or a layout that makes you look amateurish or cheap. That approach can only hurt your business and your brand, so find the level that Works for you without a negative effect.

Once you determine what brand you want to create, and have developed an identity to accompany it, the work has just begun. You will need to vigilantly reinforce your brand every moment you are in business. Your brand needs to affect everything your business does, everything you and your employees say, and every bit of information that comes out of your office. Letterhead, invoices, proposals... these should all consistently promote your brand. In your voice mail, in your email sig, and every time someone says, "What do you do?" your brand should come out to shine. Domain names and web site content should, again, reinforce your brand. Everywhere you use your brand with consistency, you are communicating with the voice of your company.

Be aware, though, that this does not happen overnight - your brand will need to build over time. Develop a strong brand, and use it consistently, and more and more often, your brand will pop into people's minds when they have a need that you can provide.

Ring Worm Treatments

Ringworm is an infectious skin disease spread by fungi called Dermatophytes. It spreads itself by forming ring-like pattern on skin with a circular rash that is inflamed at the edges and clean at the center.

Though, ringworm is a curable disease it should never be taken lightly or ignored. If left untreated it will spread and can become chronic. As soon as you notice symptoms like itching, burning, dryness, or circular flaky rashes on the skin, consult your family doctor for immediate treatment.

The regular treatment for ringworm usually takes 2-4 weeks depending on its intensity. The most common treatment methods include applying topical anti fungal creams like miconazole or cloritmazole on affected areas. These creams and many anti-ringworm ointments are readily available.

Since creams may not be applied to affected area such as toenails or scalp, oral medication along with ointments developed especially for these body parts may be prescribed. Scalp ringworms are major cause of hair loss and require aggressive treatment.

If ringworm resists regular treatment, consult a skin specialist. She may advise you to take oral medication along with special ointments to control or stop the growth of fungi. Oral medications are usually accompanied by side effects too that include gastrointestinal upset, abnormal liver functioning, decreased clotting ability of blood. If you are taking any medication for ulcer or GERD treatment, you must inform your doctor in advance since they may interfere with this therapy.

Downfalls of Speed Reading

There are many people who are entirely against speed reading. They feel that this cannot possibly work because the human mind does not allow for it. While there may be some merit to how fast you can read the fact of the matter is that speed reading is more than possible. If you train your mind to read at a fast rate of speed you will be able to move through text at a faster rate. Of course not everybody will become a great speed reader, but there are many people who benefit from this day in and day out.

So what are some of the downfalls that exist with speed reading? This is a question that can be tough to answer because there are not really any "downfalls" per say. The only drawback that you may run into with speed reading is not soaking in the information that you read. In other words, you will make it through the text with speed, but when it comes to actually learning what you read you may be at a loss. Even though this can happen, with practice you will become better at comprehending the material while you are still reading at a fast pace.

If you are interested in speed reading you should at least look into giving it a try. There is a chance that speed reading may not work for you. But at the same time there is a good chance that speed reading will change the way that you read forever. The thing that you must remember is that until you give speed reading a chance you will never know what it has to offer. For that reason look into what speed reading can do for you today. You may find out that it makes your life, both business and personal, much less stressful.

A Workers Comp Lawyer is Who You Need to Call For Workplace Injuries

If you work for an employer where your chances of becoming injured on the job are high, you need to take some necessary precautions just in case. It never hurts to know what you would do if you were hurt on the job. For instance, having a workers comp lawyer in mind or handy is one way to be prepared, if you ever find yourself in a situation where you have been hurt on the job.

It is an unfortunate truth that many smaller companies will threaten or bully employees that have been hurt on work premises. Many times these threats include job loss, blaming the employee, threatening to counter-sue and numerous other threats. The reason the employer threatens is that they are fearful of you contacting a workers comp lawyer on your own. Many employers have their own attorneys and they prefer you deal only with them, but this is not in your best interest. Remember, the company attorneys are looking to protect their client, which is the company.

It is sad that many people do in fact lose their jobs when they are hurt on the job. Others simply cannot take the stress the company places on them and they quit. This is illegal and you have many rights, but you need to contact a workers comp lawyer in order to understand your rights and understand how an attorney can help you.

If you are unable to work for a specified amount of time, a workers comp lawyer can make sure you receive your regular paychecks until you can return to work. On the other hand, if you cannot return to work due to a disability sustained at work, the lawyer can gain you the needed settlement in order for you to live comfortably and not to worry about paying bills.

Review for Broken Angel, by SW Vaughn

Broken Angel, by SW Vaughn, breathes with an insistent life of its own, pulling readers along through the dark underworld of barbaric fight clubs and prostitution.

The story unfolds as twenty-two year old Gabriel Morgan, destitute and starving, discovers a lead to his missing sister's whereabouts deep in the seedy underbelly of Manhattan. For two years, Gabe scoured the city in search of his sibling, driven by memories of their traumatic childhood and praying to rescue Lillith from the ring of prostitution into which she's been ensnared.

Slade, cold-hearted leader of an underground street fighting society, has been waiting for the unsuspecting Gabriel. Lillith dangles like a spider's prey in his web, luring Gabe into Slade's trap.

Beneath the glamour and glitz of Fifth Avenue pulses a world fraught with greed, violence, and cruelty. Captured, tortured and held in a secret complex beneath Fifth Avenue, Gabe is chained to a wall in his own private dungeon, where he discovers his fate. Terms for release: ten million dollars. Broke and desperate, Gabe is forced to fight for Slade in exchange for his sister's freedom.

Training is brutal and comes with a price. Jenner, slithering and sadistic, delights in torturing Gabriel, calling him his "angel." The name sticks. Slade bills Angel as his newest weapon; sure that he'll make millions in the no-holds-barred events.

Angel grows stronger and more resilient as the months pass under Jenner's vicious tutelage. Jenner tattoos an elaborate set of wings on Angel's back, driving him into a pain-induced coma. After an excruciating recovery, fight follows fight as Angel strikes blows for freedom. He wins the first, the second, and the third event. He's good - and discovers a disturbing affinity to the blood sport. Befriended by Akuma, an exotic and lithe fighter, Angel welcomes the brief moments of companionship as he works his way through the human cockfights.

Vaughn has created a fascinating, yet disturbed world. The tight writing flows effortlessly and propels the reader forward, mesmerized and horrified, to the startling ending. Readers must be forewarned, they will likely read late into the night, unable to abandon Angel in his plight, and will beg for the release of Devil's Honor, the second book in the series.

Solar DIY - Looking at the Simplicity of a Solar DIY Project

Monthly bills are piling up, gas prices are at all time highs and we are all looking at ways we can save ourselves some money. We should start by looking at ways we can make our homes more energy efficient and maybe a starter solar DIY project. Harbor Freight and Northern Tool and Equipment both have solar DIY kits starting at around $200 going up into the thousands. For those who want to find the real savings, building your solar system yourself is the way to go. Spend $20 to $40 and get a high rated solar DIY guide. Let's start saving money.

The first step is to decide where we are going to put our solar panels. A open piece of land next to the house our a good spot on the roof. You will want to make sure that your panels can use as much of the suns daylight as possible. The more sun light we can utilize the more power our panels will put out for the day. With our building area picked out we can now get started on our solar DIY project.

Now lets concentrate on building our first panel. Then we can increase the size of our system one solar panel at a time. The nice thing about a solar DIY project the more knowledge we get the faster the last part of the project becomes. Building the first one always takes the longest.

The next part I think is most important. That is having a good charge controller for our solar power system. This controls the amount of electricity that is flowing in and out of our storage unit. The charge controller will help us get the most out of our batteries. The reason I feel this is the most important part is the batteries are the most expensive part of our system. We need to buy ourselves a deep cycle battery for our storage unit. I like to make my storage unit a little large than I will need at the moment. So lets buy two batteries to start out. That way when my solar DIY project progresses I will not have to work on the storage unit again. I can concentrate on my solar panels.

Finally we have DC power coming out of our solar panel and going into our batteries. The DC power has to get converted to AC power to use in our home. So we will have to install a power inverter. So lets install one large enough to handle our finished solar DIY project.

After the entire system is built I like to go back over the whole thing. If your not sure about something refer back to your guide. I am pretty good at following directions but better safe then sorry when working with electricity.

There is very little maintenance for your solar system. Natural weather conditions tend to keep them clean enough without losing much in efficiency. I just like to look over my system every couple of weeks and check the batteries and see if there is any sign of corrosion. Check the wires for any discoloration. Discoloration can be a sign your wires are getting to hot and might have to go to a larger gauge wire. All in all there is not a whole lot to keep up on.

Going the solar DIY route, our system will cost us up front but the future savings will be huge. Our system will last us long after it has paid for itself several times over. You will have the comfort of knowing you will be able to fix any problem that can go wrong. Just from the knowledge you obtained by putting the system together.

The Science of Light - Commercial Applications - Magazine Review

There is probably no more important science, than the science of light. We have come a long way in this science, and light seems to affect everything on earth, and everything we do in our civilization. The lights we use to see, the computer screens, TV, and even our own biological functions. This is an exciting era for light sciences because of all the new materials and the many commercial applications.

It goes without saying that if you are a college student interested in real sciences, that light is one that you should be studying. Why you ask? It's simple really; because new materials are leading the way and opening more branches in photonics. Now we have laser light for the military, light use for communication, microprocessors using light, and even LED lights for alternative energy savings.

We use UV light for solar, to stave off bad bacteria, and even to treat water. If you are in any industry which utilizes light, there is a very good industry trade Journal I'd like to recommend to you. The name of the magazine is;

Photonic Spectra, Laurin Publishing, Pittsfield MA, ISSN: 1387-974X

In this magazine you will learn of job opportunities, the movers and shakers, and industry announcements. You will learn about which companies are doing what, and which universities are breaking new ground in their research. Each issue also has scientific articles and research papers. There is a wealth of information in every magazine.

There is also an online version which is very good, and you will be amazed at all the resources, and links to both buyers and sellers in the industry. I highly recommend this magazine for anyone who is involved in the science of light, or commercial applications for light. Please consider all this.

Mobile Email Versus SMS

Are mobile emails gaining precedence over text messages?

Mobile Emails are quickly becoming an entrenched part of the modern lifestyle. Earlier emailing was limited to the P.C only .For accessing your emails you had to depend on a computer system. Thus, for immediate messaging SMS (Short messaging service) gained popularity. SMS is used to send short messages. And the best part of SMS is its incredible speed and is built into every mobile device without exception.

The research done in this field in the past 2 years reveals that there has been a steady decline in the use of SMS. The GSM operators have witnessed close to 9% drop in outgoing SMS since the past quarter. This decline in usage could perhaps be linked to revision in SMS tariffs by several GSM service providers and the easy availability of free mobile emails on the basic mobile hand set allowing users to read, reply, compose, forward, sent and delete emails from their mobile phone, the question that tosses our mind is "Are text messages slowly losing their flavor with growing cellular base?"

The allure of email has transcended both the fixed and wireless worlds. SMS is simply wireless, and more limited than email.I think the big difference between SMS and email is the amount and the size of the text message one can send. Where SMS is often used for personal short messages with the size of the text not exceeding 160 characters per message, email service can be utilized for sending from a short to a long descriptive email, with attachment of your pictures, sound, text/doc/pdf file.

Although viewing of attachments is not supported by many of our ordinary handsets but the rapid advancement in mobile technology has brought such email solutions to our door step which provides free email access on our ordinary mobile phones and that too with attachments.

I recently came to know about certain mobile email solution providing free access to email on an ordinary GPRS compatible mobile handset along with attachments which not only included text and document files but image files too. Moreover you can use your existing mobile phone with a WAP 1.2 & above browser, to wirelessly access your e-mail box as well as register for new email ID through your basic mobile phone .

I personally feel "Email is like placing a letter in the mail box. You can open it whenever you feel like whereas SMS is like tapping on the shoulder and forcefully giving a message in the hand." The biggest drawback of Text message is that it occupies a major part of your phone memory stuffing it with unwanted text messages, out of which, very few are really important.

On the other hand, the best part about mobile email is that your phone memory is absolutely free and unaffected from unnecessary storage of messages, as the emails along with the attachments do not get stored in your phone memory .You only get a mobile view of them. Your emails remain in your mail box at the server. Whenever you want to access your email on your mobile phone you simply have to point your mobile browser to the URL like wap.emailatmobile.com, enter your email-ID & password and your mails are pulled from the mail server to your mobile phone.

Above all, for accessing your emails on mobile, you are not dependent on your personal mobile phone You can easily access your emails from any mobile phone that is capable of internet browsing. But SMS binds you to your hand set. If you loose your hand set your entire information is lost but with mobile email as nothing is stored on your hand set your information is absolutely secured.

Apparently SMS seems to be cheaper and popular as all the mobile phones have this capability but with Tariffs of major service providers' going up has actually made it an expensive affair. But for accessing emails on mobile one need to pay the basic charges applicable for browsing net on the phone and that provides you with a hoard of other facilities besides emails.

I feel over the coming years emails on mobile will become increasingly popular with million of business and individual users with access to wireless email in the world. The increasing availability of wireless email support would definitely take over SMS in the near future.

4 Steps to Discover What Sells on eBay

You have pondered the notion of starting an online business, maybe on eBay, but you are not sure what to sell. How do you learn which products will people buy?

The fastest way to lose money on eBay (or any other site) and get discouraged is to put up auctions without first researching whether items like yours are selling. You may imagine that everyone just has to want your products. But the truth is your pieces are probably competing against hundreds and thousands of other listings.

This article outline steps you can take to minimize your risks before you put up your first auction. Here are things you will learn:

• what is selling on eBay in any genre - is there a demand?

• how much people are willing to pay for these items

The eBay marketplace comprises a dynamic and fluid current of millions of users who create the market. Which items move through the eBay system shifts daily so it is vital that you understand these changes and how to take advantage of these shifts. The solution to navigating and profiting from the eBay market flux is research.... research.... research!

You can only sell items if there is a demand for those items. If no one wants what you are selling on eBay, you won't make any sales there. You will only get as much money for your items as people are willing to pay for them.

Research Step 1

Go to pulse.eBay.com. Popular searches show you the most sought after items. You can also go into different categories and learn what is popular by genre, like in jewelry or art or motors (cars).

After you pick an item you want to sell, go to eBay's home page and enter in the word or phrase that describes your item in the search box. For an example, I typed in "handmade jewelry" and was shown over 150 live auctions.

Research Step 2

Next, you find yourself on the results page of auctions for "handmade jewelry". Scroll down the links on the left hand side of the page and click on the link for "Completed items". eBay shows me a snapshot of handmade jewelry listings ended in a recent period.

Research Step 3

We need to know how much people are willing to pay for "handmade jewelry" to learn if it is profitable to even consider listing these pieces on eBay.

eBay allows you to sort the completed auction listings by price. Just click on the link that says "highest price." Now your list of completed auctions will be ordered by highest priced items first, descending to the lowest prices. If the list shows lowest prices first, just click on "highest price" again and the sort order will reverse.

You will notice not all completed auctions got bids. For the purposes of our research, you are only interested in the prices of completed auctions, especially the highest priced listings. You want to know what people are willing to pay for items like those you want to sell.

Research Step 4

Based on the average prices your research reveals, decide if you can profitably make (or buy) and sell handmade jewelry items on eBay. Don't try to fool yourself with wishful thinking. Do the math and determine exactly how much time/labor and cost of materials goes into your item. If it takes you 8 hours to make a piece of jewelry and the highest price similar items sell on eBay for is only $26, you are not going to make a profit.

That is all it takes to give you up to date marketing research for selling items on eBay. If you decide to go ahead with an eBay business, you will also want to examine listings that completed successfully to learn how to improve your listings.
